Sissel
Kyrkjebø - Born 1969 in Bergen Norway and living
in Copenhagen - is a very talented and internationally recognized
Norwegian soprano.
Sissel Kyrkjebø (Kyrkjeboe) started her
song career nine years old in a children's choir
and won her first local talent competition when she was eleven.
She vas greatly inspired by Barbra Streisand and
her international debut was in 1886 - where she
performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in her hometown of Bergen.
That same year - her first album - SISSEL - was
released in Norway with over 500,000 copies sold
in its first run. She is known for singing the Olympic Hymn at the
1994 Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer - Norway
and for her participation on the Titanic film soundtrack.
Her duets and performances with international stars like Plácido
Domingo - Charles Aznavour - José
Carreras - Neil Sedaka - Warren
G - Josh Groban - Diana Krall
