Alicia
Keys burst into the music scene in 2001
with her blend of soul and hip-hop (with jazz and classical
thrown in) and a style and finesse on the piano not heard in
years.
Alicia grew up in New York and began work on
what would become her debut LP at the age of 14
and, later attended Columbia University before deciding to make
music her focus. In 1998 she signed with Arista
Records and followed Clive Davis to his new label,
J Records. Alicia has won several Grammy
Awards for Best R&B Vocal Performance and
topped the Billboard Pop 100 Airplay chart with
"No One" in 2008. |
