At a beautiful location in the park area at Østre Anlæg in central Copenhagen, near the Nørreport and Østerport stations, you will find Statens Museum for Kunst, Denmark's National Gallery.All year round the collections at Statens Museum for Kunst consist of the Royal Collection of Paintings and Sculpture, the Royal Collection of Prints and Drawings, and the Royal Cast Collection. Statens Museum for Kunst presently owns approx. 9,000 paintings and sculptures, 300,000 drawings and prints, and more than 2,600 plaster casts. Nearly 3,000 works are on exhibition in the museum and there is free entry to the public.

The museum tells the story of Danish resistance during Nazi occupation 1940-1945. It springs from an exhibition called Fighting Denmark, arranged by the Resistance Council in the summer of 1945. In 1957 a permanent museum was opened on the present location. The exhibition you see today was inaugurated in 1995.

The Farewell Tour for legendary Irish dancing phenomenon Riverdance – who will do their final performance at Forum after ten years on world stages. Denmark has a proud tradition for track cycling with a long line of medals at the World Championships and the Olympics. At the moment Denmark has a strong team for team pursuit - who won a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics 2008 - and Denmark will also be competing for top spots in madison and points race. 27/06 - Danish Derby 2010 - Copenhagen Racecourse Klampenborg
On the 28th June, Copenhagen Racecourse Klampenborg will host the most prestigious and iconic events in the Danish race house calendar and on the Danish racetracks – The Danish Derby 2010. The rock legend and demigod’s concert at Roskilde Festival will be one out of only three this summer in Europe in 2010. The other two take place in Belgium and in France - and Roskilde Festival is the only real festival that Prince visits. 02/07 - 11/07 - Jazz Festival 2010 - 30 years of jazz in Copenhagen
The famous Copenhagen Jazz Festival is spread all around Copenhagen at various venues and "hot spots", where Danish and international Jazz Bands will perform in concert or at indoor/outdoor arrangements. 04/07 - Rebild Festival 2010 – Rebild Nationalpark - Jutland
Every year since July 4th 1912 - hundreds of thousands of Danish-Americans and others have joined with Danes in this celebration of the American Independence Day July 4th on the beautiful heather-covered hills at Rebild National Park in Jutland - 20 km south of Aalborg. On this festival day - Stars and Stripes of USA and the Danish Dannebrog flag are flown side-by-side in natural picturesque surroundings expressing the thanks to the USA for welcoming Danish emigrants to the US homeland. US-citizens, who are visiting Copenhagen can experience this festival in Jutland - and by train or car the trip will take nearly 4 hours and there is plenty of logging facilities at Rebild and Aalborg. As a tribute to this USA –Danish Festival and as a countdown to the event - the added VIDEO performs – Strike Up the Band.

05/07 - Elvis Costello - Tivoli Concert Hall
The British singer and songwriter Elvis Costello with his band the Sugarcanes will perform at the Tivoli Concert Hall. Elvis Costello began his musical carrier in the mid-1970 in London and has since produced numerous albums and has performed on all word stages. Costello sits of the Advisory Committee of the Board of Directors of the Jazz Foundation of America. 06/07 - DIANA KRALL - Tivoli Concert Hall
World famous Jazz Diva Diana Krall - Canadian jazz pianist and singer will visit Copenhagen and give a concert in Falconer Center. Her latest album - Quiet Nights – has just been released and is already topping the billboard. Diana Krall’s trilling piano playing and jazzy orchestration of older evergreens often in bossa nova style has given her a international reputation as a popular entertainer on world stages. KRIS KRISTOFFERSON - Legendary American country music songwriter, folk singer and actor will visit Copenhagen and give a concert at Tivoli. Here is a great change for all Stevie Wonder fans visiting Copenhagen to see their idol perform in Copenhagen at a concert at the national stadium Parken. The world famous and prominent singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mr. Stevie Wonderful does not need further presentation as he has produced 35 US albums – 28 major studio releases with album sales totalling more than 72 million units. This gifted and multi-talented artist from the US will sing all of his popular hits and from his latest album too. Denmark Soccer Festival 2010 - will attract more than 170 teams from countries like USA, Norway, Germany, England, France, Scotland, Brazil among others. 14/08 - OPEN AIR OPERA - BALLET - 2010 - Rosenborg - Free entry

Regatta with old sail ships at Elsinore – Helsingør. Baltic Sail 2010 - The harbour in Helsingør will be packed with traditional sailing vessels, square-riggers, steamers, historical replicas, and navy vessels. Other vessels will embark on daily trips with paying guests on board. This year a Jazz Festival with many concerts will follow the old sailing ships - while they are in harbour at Helsingør.


23/08 - Little Mermaid - 97 Years Celebration
Every year on the 23 August, the Little Mermaid’s birthday is celebrated by young mermaids, who will form the number of years of her anniversary in the clean harbour water. There are also many festivities on the shore that day - beside of the Mermaid statue. Arranged by the Danish Swimming Association.

Experience Scandinavias biggest jewellery and watch trade fair in Bella Center 26-29 August 2010. GOLD*SILVER*WATCHES 2008 had 9,890 visitors during the four fair days, of whom 4,260 came from abroad. From Sweden alone, there were 2.490 visitors.

28/08 - Swimming the canals of Christiansborg 2010
Everyone can participate in this swimming competition round the 2 km canals of Christiansborg Castle 2010. The start point of the race will be at the “Black Diamond” at 9.00 a.m. and will nearly end here too. Test your condition and the fresh waters of Copenhagen harbour. The swimming distance is 1.900 meter – 1.9 km. Contact the Danish Swimming Association, who has arranged this event, if you are interested.
